The inside of Captain is a pleasure. Large, comfortable bucket seats bracket an artful center console, the wooden shifter knob standing on a chrome handle. The previous owner opted to install a wood trim kit at which purists might balk, but adds a sense of comfort and is a great contrast to the black upholstery. The steering wheel is a work of art with it's chrome piping and simple, yet stylish design. When sitting behind the wheel you are transported back in time, touching, smelling, and seeing things that existed before many of us were born. Lean back into the seat, put your left arm on the sill, shift the transmission into gear, and wheel the car onto the open road for some windows-down cruising. It doesn't get much better than that.
